December, 2011 Families woke up early to prepare eggs, bacon, potatoes and a fresh fruit salad for 30 shelter guests. New friendships blossomed – we welcomed kids from 5 Chicago area schools to the event.

Greater Chicago Food Depository

November, 2011 We were excited to welcome families from 6 different schools to our volunteer event at The Greater Chicago Food Depository. We donated food items and labeled and boxed 5,568 cans of carrots and peas which will help feed 2,000 people. We learned about hunger in our community and had the opportunity to tour the warehouse.

October, 2011 Families experienced the fun of volunteering in a bookstore. We wrote book recommendations and made buttons out of old book jackets. We also donated books from home to support local literacy programs.
