We’re so glad you found us! We host a variety of projects each month to make it easy for families like yours to get out of the house and into the community. We take care of the planning and details so you can enjoy the experience of volunteering with your kids.  You can count on us to make making a difference fun and meaningful for everyone in your family.

  • How do I sign up for a Honeycomb project?First, join our mailing list to stay in the loop.  Browse our upcoming events here on our website and find a project that interests you and fits in with your schedule. Registration opens on the 15th of the month prior to the event. With just a few clicks, we’ll have you registered. 
  • How much does it cost to attend?We ask volunteer families to pay what they can to help us cover our costs to produce our events. Your donations help us research and develop projects, staff our events, and pay for other necessary supplies like wheelbarrows and waffle mix.
  • How old do you have to be to volunteer with Honeycomb?You can count on us to plan project that inform and engage every member of your family.  All ages are welcome most projects are best suited kids ages 5 and up.  All kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 
  • Honeycomb events fill so fast – what do I do now?Thanks for your patience – we’re hard at work expanding our opportunities. In the meantime, check out our resources page, complete with DIY projects and more.
  • Can I host a project for my company or group? You bet. Contact us to learn more about how to get your group involved with Honeycomb by sending us an email at .
  • Where does the name The Honeycomb Project come from? Bees work together to make their hive a place where everyone can thrive. We believe that Honeycomb volunteers, like bees in a colony, can accomplish great things when we share our skills and work together toward a common goal.

Volunteer Opportunities for Adults

We have an amazing team of adults helping us out at The Honeycomb Project, and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them.  Our passionate volunteers share their skills and expertise to help build the hive from the inside out.

Help Lead a Project

Our Volunteer Event Coordinators work with our Project Leaders to deliver the very best family volunteer events. They are party hosts, teachers, and organizers. They love working with kids and don’t mind getting their hands dirty. 

If this sounds like just your thing, please fill out our volunteer application and plan to attend an upcoming orientation.  After completing a background check, we’ll send you our calendar of upcoming projects. You can sign-up for any available project that meets your interests and schedule (usually 3-4 hours per project). Full position description.

If you have a little time to spare, we can surely use your help. Please apply today and tell us more about how you would like to get involved.  We’ll contact you as soon as we have a role that meets your interests. We are currently seeking volunteers to help with:

Honeycomb Leadership Council

The Honeycomb Project is excited to announce a new pilot program, the Honeycomb Leadership Council (HLC), for student leaders ages 14-18. Members of HLC work directly with Honeycomb’s leadership team to learn what it takes to build a Honeycomb volunteer project from start to finish including:

  • Researching issues and nonprofit organizations
  • Program planning, promotion and leadership
  • Securing donations and fundraising
