We’re so glad you found us! We host a variety of projects each month to make it easy for families like yours to get out of the house and into the community. We take care of the planning and details so you can enjoy the experience of volunteering with your kids.  You can count on us to create fun and meaningful volunteer experiences for everyone in your family.

  • How do I sign up for a Honeycomb project?Get started by creating a My Hive account for your family.  There, you can browse our schedule and “favorite” projects. Registration opens on the 15th of the month prior to the event. Be sure to join our mailing list to stay in the loop about Honeycomb happenings! 
  • How much does it cost to attend?Our programs are free for everyone but if you can donate, please do! We rely on generous support from Honeycomb families to run our programs for thousands of volunteers each year and pay for necessary supplies like wheelbarrows and waffle mix.
  • How old do you have to be to volunteer with Honeycomb? Honeycomb programs are designed for your whole family to participate in together! All ages are welcome – most events are best suited for ages 5 to adult. No drop-off allowed. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 
  • Honeycomb events fill so fast – what do I do now?Thanks for your patience – we’re hard at work expanding our opportunities. In the meantime, check out our resources page which features DIY projects, discussion questions, book recommendations and more.
  • Can I host a project for my company or group? You bet. Contact us to learn more about how to get your group involved with Honeycomb by sending us an email at .
  • Where does the name The Honeycomb Project come from? Bees work together to make their hive a place where everyone can thrive. We believe that Honeycomb volunteers, like bees in a colony, can accomplish great things when we work together.

We have an amazing team of adults helping us out at The Honeycomb Project, and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them.  Our passionate volunteers share their skills and expertise to help build the hive from the inside out.

Help Lead a Project

Volunteer to help our Project Leaders to deliver the very best family volunteer events. Our volunteers are party hosts, teachers, and organizers. They love working with kids and don’t mind getting their hands dirty. 

If this sounds like just your thing, please fill out our volunteer application and plan to attend an upcoming orientation.  After completing a background check, we’ll send you our calendar of upcoming projects. You can sign-up for any available project that meets your interests and schedule (usually 3-4 hours per project). Full position description.

If you have a little time to spare, we can surely use your help. Please apply today and tell us more about how you would like to get involved.  We’ll contact you as soon as we have a role that meets your interests. We are currently seeking volunteers to help with:

Honeycomb Leadership Corps

The Honeycomb Leadership Corps (HLC), is a program specifically designed for teens and parents looking to take their leadership with Honeycomb to the next level. Members of HLC build leadership skills and volunteer behind-the-scenes at Honeycomb events - assisting Honeycomb Project Leaders in creating fun, impactful volunteer experiences for families.

Applications for the 2020 HLC open this fall. This program is only open to existing Honeycomb families. Stay tuned for details!
