Volunteer Spotlight

Ryder, age 9, started volunteering with Honeycomb in 2011. Ryder and his family have joined us to clean city beaches, build community gardens, raise money for pediatric research and more. Last summer, Ryder hosted a lemonade stand with friends and raised $131 for to help The Honeycomb Project provide school supplies for students in Chicago.

This year, Ryder took his fundraising talent to new heights. He rallied his classmates to host lemonade stands to raise money for Caring Kid Connections, an organization that helps students at the Tuskegee International School in Ghana. Ryder decided to get involved because “we have so much cool stuff at our school and I felt sad that these kids don’t even have books.” Together, Ryder and his friends raised $1,500 to purchase text books for students.
