Build Better Classrooms Supply Drive

Thank you for volunteering to donate school and classroom supplies to CCRX! Below, please find all the information you need to you need to prepare for your donation drop off.

Our Goal
This project helps people and the planet! You will collect school and classroom supply donations to support Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange's Teacher Swap Circle. Your work at this project reduces waste while helping CPS teachers receive free classroom supplies.

Prior to volunteering, discuss the purpose of the project with your teammates. Here are a few ideas to get the conversation going and build empathy:

·       Why do you think teachers spend personal funds on supplies for their classrooms? 

·       When you donate items you no longer use like craft or office supplies, how might it help teachers? What about the planet?

Collecting Donations
This project is designed for your team to participate in together! Work together to purchase or collect new or gently used school and classroom supplies. You will complete this project at home and then deliver your donations directly to CCRX on the date/time noted above.

All donations make a difference! Please bring as many or as few donations as you like. Check out Honeycomb's Donation Guide to review the CCRX wish list of most needed items.

Know Before You Go
You will be responsible for delivering your donations to CCRX. Free street parking is available or you may park in gated lot at the warehouse. This site is also accessible by CTA. Look for CCRX directional signs, the entrance is located in the parking lot. CCRX staff will be on site to collect your donations.

This is a contact-free donation drop off. We ask that you adhere to COVID-19 best practices outlined on the CDC website here. Let's work together to keep each other safe!
