Make Holiday Cards for Veterans
Thank you for volunteering to make cards for veterans! Below, please find all the information you need to you need to create and deliver your card donations!

Our Goal
Create uplifting cards to show care and community support for veterans receiving treatment and services at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center during the holiday season.
When dropping off your donation, pop into the National Veterans Art Museum (NVAM) to explore works of art created by veterans, providing a unique perspective on the subject of war.

Learn more about the challenges veterans face when they return home by watching Veterans Coming Home: Stories of Service.
Prior to volunteering, discuss the purpose of the project with your teammates. Here are a few ways to get the conversation going and build empathy:
· What is a veteran?
· What challenges do veterans experience when they return home?
· Why is important to show community support for veterans?
Crafting Handmade Holiday Cards
This project is designed for your whole family to participate in together! Work together to purchase premade cards or craft handmade cards of your own. Please refrain from religious messages and use uplifting language/images that would make the recipient smile! You may include your first name or family name but do not include additional personal information. Please make as many cards as you like!
Know Before You Go
You will complete this project at home and then deliver your donations directly to NVAM on the date/time noted above. Street parking is available on Milwaukee Ave. This site is also accessible by CTA.
The Museum is located on the second floor of a storefront building. Look for signs to the National Veterans Art Museum.
